ISO 22301:2019 BCMS standard aims to help organizations manage risks and ensure operational sustainability in the face of various disruptions. Through collaborative efforts from the Bank Mandiri team and expert consultants, we have successfully carried out an effective implementation process and continuous support to achieve ISO 22301 certification.
On June 15, 2023, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero) proudly announced the receipt of ISO 22301 Certification for Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) from PT British Standard Institution (BSI) Indonesia. This certification is the result of Joint Planning Sessions and Kick Off Meetings conducted by Bank Mandiri Tbk to plan and prepare for BCMS implementation.
The ISO 22301 BCMS Certification reaffirms PT Bank Mandiri Tbk's commitment to maintaining superior operational continuity and being able to address risks in the increasingly complex banking industry. This international standard provides the best guidance and principles for planning, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing business continuity management systems.
In order to ensure readiness to face risks and maintain effective operational continuity, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk conducted a Joint Planning Session through virtual meetings involving relevant management teams. This meeting aimed to discuss the necessary steps to meet ISO 22301:2019 BCMS requirements. In intense discussions, the Bank Mandiri Tbk management team, together with expert consultants, discussed the development and implementation of business continuity management systems in line with international standards.
Following the Joint Planning Session, Bank Mandiri Tbk proceeded with a Kick-off Meeting, which marked the starting point for BCMS implementation preparations. The Kick-off Meeting was attended by relevant management teams from Bank Mandiri Tbk and expert consultants who will provide support in BCMS implementation. In this meeting, concrete steps for BCMS implementation were further discussed, including determining responsibilities, resource planning, risk analysis, procedure development, and staff training.
In this process, we ensure that operational systems and procedures have been analyzed, developed, and refined to guarantee optimal operational continuity in the face of various challenges. Bank Mandiri Tbk actively identifies risks that may affect banking operations and takes proactive measures to mitigate their impact. In addition, we have developed a comprehensive emergency plan to address potential emergency situations.
The implementation process and support for ISO 22301 BCMS at Bank Mandiri Tbk involve close cooperation between internal teams and expert consultants. The expert consultants assist in formulating policies, procedures, and emergency plans in line with ISO 22301 standards. They also provide training to staff to enhance understanding and awareness of business continuity management.

On June 15, 2023, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero) officially received the ISO 22301 BCMS Certificate from PT British Standard Institution (BSI) Indonesia. The certificate presentation was attended by the Bank Mandiri Tbk team, representatives of PT BSI Group Indonesia, and business consultants from Proxsis Consulting. The certificate was presented by Mr. Made, Head of BCMS at PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero), in recognition of Bank Mandiri Tbk's successful compliance with international standards.
“With this certification, it means that Bank Mandiri has implemented international standards to ensure business continuity and mitigate the risk of operational disruptions, thus ensuring that services to customers continue to run smoothly (Product Governance),” stated SVP Business Continuity Management Bank Mandiri I Made Wahyu Arjaya in Jakarta, Friday (6/16).
Furthermore, the certification is granted to several critical work units that are the mainstays of Bank Mandiri's business. Some critical work units certified under ISO 22301 include Business Continuity Management Unit, Information Technology, Treasury, Cash and Trade Operations, and Electronic Channel Operations.
